From 1 July 2026, medical devices will have to be registered in swissdamed. A fee is payable for registering each UDI-DI.
Fee levels
- CHF 200 for the first device per year and CHF 20 for each additional device
- A maximum of CHF 10,000 per year per manufacturer / person who assembles systems or procedure packs (no additional costs for 492 devices or more per year)
When do the fees first become payable?
- On 31.12.2026 for all UDI-DIs with the status 'On the market'
- No fee if the device is marked as 'No longer placed on the market' as at 31.12.2026
Invoicing
- Followed by regular invoicing exclusively to new registrations as of 1 January 2027
- The registration fee is calculated annually based on the number of products newly registered in that respective calendar year
- Each device is only invoiced once, in the year of its initial registration
Important
- Fees are charged per manufacturer / person who assembles systems or procedure packs (not per CH‑REP)
- Updates to existing data are free of charge
- A fee is payable for the new registration of a device that was “discarded”
- Invoicing for foreign manufacturers, as well as for persons who assemble systems or procedure packs, is issued to the CH-REP
