In order to perform administrative actions in the context of its supervisory duties, Swissmedic levies charges that are calculated either on the basis of the flat-rate fees set out in Annexes 1 and 2 of the Ordinance on the Fees charged by the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products (FeeO-Swissmedic; SR 812.214.5) or according to the actual time spent (Art. 4 para. 1 FeeO-Swissmedic). Any additional work is invoiced in addition according to Art. 5 FeeO-Swissmedic. The fees are payable by the party giving rise to the administrative action (Art. 3 para. 1 FeeO-Swissmedic).
Fixed fee rates according to Annexes 1 and 2:
- Establishment licences
- Import or export of controlled substances
Time-based fees:
- Annual statement
- No-objection certificate (NOC)
- Individual cultivation licences
- All others (e.g. meetings for applicants, enquiries)
According to Art. 4 para. 2 FeeO-Swissmedic, from 1 July 2026, the hourly rate for work charged on a time basis is CHF 270.00 per working hour.
