The revised Ordinance on the Fees charged by the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products (FeeO-Swissmedic; SR 812.214.5) enters into force on 1 July 2026. As announced in the Federal Council media release on 28 May 2026, the revision includes, in particular, the introduction of a registration fee for medical devices and an increase in the rate for work charged on an hourly basis.
In this communication, Swissmedic clarifies the implementation of the revision as follows: The charging by time specified in Art. 4 para. 2 of the revised FeeO-Swissmedic changes with effect from 1 July 2026 to the new hourly rate of CHF 270. For services provided up to 30 June 2026, the existing hourly rate of CHF 200 still applies. The following also applies to ongoing procedures: The date on which the service is provided is decisive for charging purposes.
