Eliane Schmid has become Swissmedic’s new Head of Communication and media spokesperson. She took up the post at the beginning of October, succeeding Danièle Bersier.

Eliane Schmid worked in Communications at the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) from 2014 until September 2021, heading up the department from 2017 with responsibility for the Office’s internal and external communication. She has been studying for a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Communication Management and Leadership at Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Winterthur alongside working since 2018. Between 2004 and 2014, she worked in information for the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, including five years as spokesperson. During this time, she studied public law at the University of Bern as part of a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS).
