25.04.2008 - Within the coming days, a vaccine that is effective only against measles (unlike the well-known combined vaccine) will be available in Switzerland. The Official Medicines Control Laboratory of Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products, has completed its analytical examination of a batch of the vaccine and released it for distribution in Switzerland. Stocks of the vaccine are available in Switzerland. In making the above-mentioned authorized vaccine available, Swissmedic has suspended its practice of issuing special licences for the importation of non-authorized, monovalent measles vaccines in Switzerland.
