File a report

Any person is entitled to report criminal offences to a prosecuting authority.

Offences for violations of the Therapeutic Products Act can be reported to Swissmedic (Criminal Law Division) or a police station (Art. 19 para. 1 VStrR; SR 313.0).

A criminal complaint can be sent to Swissmedic by post (see address on the right) or by e-mail (strafrecht@swissmedic.ch) and should contain the following information:

  • A chronological statement of the main facts. It is not the responsibility of the prosecution authorities to search through the files submitted to it looking for criminal conduct.
  • Specific details of who behaved unlawfully, and when, where and how this took place.
  • A full description and – if available – enclosure of the available evidence (original or photocopy).
  • Enclosure of any existing correspondence regarding this matter.
  • Names of witnesses, if available and known (last name, first name, address, telephone number).
