Easier access to the Electronic Vigilance Reporting Portal (ElViS) for pharmacists via hp-id

Healthcare professionals can now use their Healthcare Professional Identity (hp-id) to access ElViS

Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals who use an hp-id (Health iD/myTrust iD) no longer need a separate login for electronic reporting of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs): They can now use ElViS, Swissmedic's online reporting tool, with their hp-id. Electronic reporting facilitates prompt assessment of reports by Swissmedic and the regional pharmacovigilance centres.

It is vital to the monitoring of medicine and vaccine safety that healthcare professionals report suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) promptly to Swissmedic. This applies especially to serious side effects or those that are not listed in the Information for healthcare professionals. ElViS (Electronic Vigilance Reporting System) is available for the submission of such reports.

Swissmedic has expanded the ElViS login process: from now on, an existing Healthcare Professional Identity (hp-id) can be used to log in to ElViS to report suspected side effects electronically. The existing authentication and log-in processes (CH-Login, HIN-Login) remain unchanged.

We suggest that anyone who already uses a CH-Login or HIN-Login continues to log in to ElViS this way as previously entered reports will not be visible to them if they use their hp-id.

With ElViS, reports can be sent at the press of a button after the required details have been entered, and laboratory reports or hospital discharge reports, for example, can be attached electronically. Safe transmission of sensitive medical data is guaranteed. Reports concerning COVID-19 vaccines have also been simplified in ElViS: After logging in, a red button leads directly to a specific report form for suspected adverse drug reactions related to COVID-19 vaccines.
